The machine tool servo system is the core component of a CNC machine tool, responsible for accurately controlling the position, speed, and acceleration of the moving parts of the machine tool, ensuring machining accuracy and efficiency.

1. Core Components

• Servo Motor
  Type: Permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) or induction motor (IM), with high torque density and fast response characteristics;
  Function: Convert electrical energy into mechanical energy to drive the moving parts of the machine tool.
  Driver
  Type: Vector control driver or direct torque control driver;
  Function: Convert the command signals of the numerical control system (CNC) into motor drive signals, and adjust the current, voltage, and frequency.
  Feedback Device
  Type: photoelectric encoder, magnetic encoder or rotary transformer;
  Function: Real time monitoring of motor position, speed, and angle to form closed-loop feedback.
  Controller
  Type: Based on PLC or dedicated motion control chip;
  Function: Execute motion trajectory planning, interpolation algorithms, and dynamic compensation, coordinate multi axis collaborative motion.

2. Key Features

• Position control: Ensure that the tool or workpiece is accurately moved to the designated position;
  Speed control: Maintain a constant cutting speed and optimize the quality of the machined surface;
  Acceleration control: Quickly respond to motion commands and shorten machining cycles.

3. Applications

• Metal Cutting Machine Tool
  Lathe: Control spindle speed and feed rate to achieve precision turning;
  Milling machine: Multi axis linkage machining of complex surfaces, such as turbine blades and molds;
  Grinding machine: high-precision grinding wheel dressing and workpiece grinding, surface roughness Ra ≤ 0.1 μ m.
  Metal Forming Machine Tool
  Punching machine: High speed stamping, capable of punching over 1000 times per minute;
  Laser cutting machine: Control the movement trajectory of the cutting head to achieve complex shape cutting.
